Farmers begin by submitting an application to convert to organic farming through the Saudi Organic Farming Association or via the “Nama” platform operated by the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture.
After submitting the application, the farmer is contacted and arrangements are made for him to enroll in a theoretical and practical training program at the headquarters of the National Center for Organic Agriculture in the Al-Qassim region, through which he learns about the organic farming system and its requirements, proper agricultural practices, as well as the records and procedures required during the transition phase.
3. Selecting an Inspection and Certification Company
After completing the certification program, the farmer selects an inspection and certification company that suits their needs to begin the inspection and certification process and verify compliance with organic farming requirements and standards on the farm.
4. Beginning the Transition Phase
After completing the procedures with the inspection and certification company, the farm begins the transition to organic farming, during which the farmer must adhere to organic production requirements and practices until the transition period is complete and the requirements for obtaining organic production certification are met.
