The Saudi Organic Farming Association Participates in Biofach Saudi Arabia
The Saudi Organic Farming Association is participating in the Biofach Saudi Arabia exhibition, which will be held in conjunction with Organic Food Day from November 11–13, 2024, in Riyadh, in its capacity as a strategic partner.
Through this participation, the Association aims to highlight its role in the growth and development of organic farming, as well as to provide an opportunity for those involved in organic farming—whether farmers or organizations related to organic farming—to participate under its umbrella.
Abdullah Al-Hassan, the Association’s acting secretary-general, explained that the Association will participate with an awareness booth, as well as a dedicated area for farmers and local producers involved in this sector, and he expects that the exhibition will have a positive impact on organic farming in the Kingdom.
Regarding the growth of organic farming in the Kingdom, Al-Hussan confirmed that there was a 109% increase in production volume by the end of 2023, compared to 2018, totaling 95,389 metric tons of agricultural products, while organic and in-conversion agricultural holdings saw growth of more than 200% by the end of 2023, compared to 2018, totaling 540 organic farms and holdings.
