As part of the Saudi Organic Farming Association’s efforts to promote a culture of organic farming and strengthen its practices among farmers and the local community, the Association, in collaboration with the Organic Agriculture Department, organized an event “Organic Outreach Caravan” in the Hail region, which included a range of awareness-raising, educational, and technical activities and programs aimed at raising awareness and improving organic farming practices, as well as supporting marketing channels for organic farmers.

Event Objectives:

1. To raise awareness of organic farming concepts and their environmental and health benefits.

2. To provide technical and advisory support to organic farmers.

3. To strengthen communication between farmers and supporting entities in the organic sector.

4. Raising community awareness, particularly among school students, about the importance of sustainable agriculture.

5. To showcase the marketing solutions available for organic products provided by the association

Event Highlights:

First: The Informational Exhibition and Organic Farmers’ Booths:

An awareness and educational exhibition was held as part of the event, featuring a number of booths where organic farmers showcased their products, alongside informational booths that provided comprehensive information about organic farming, its goals, and its benefits. A workshop was also presented that addressed the technical, environmental, and health aspects of organic farming, and it drew active participation from the audience, including farmers, interested parties, and visitors.

Second: An Educational School Visit:

A visit was made to a school in the Hail region with the aim of raising students’ awareness of the concepts of organic farming. The visit included:

1. A simplified presentation explaining the importance of organic farming.

2. Distribution of educational brochures and small gifts to enhance understanding and participation.

This event was very well received by the school administration and students and helped instill healthy environmental values in the younger generation.

Third: Field Trips to Organic Farms

The initiative included field trips to a number of organic farms in the region, during which direct technical support was provided, including:

1. Reviewing and updating agricultural records in accordance with organic standards.

2. Correcting certain incorrect practices in farming and production.

3. Providing technical solutions in the areas of fertilization, irrigation, and biological pest control.

4. Reviewing the marketing and promotional opportunities the association offers to farmers.
